The Peace of Täyssinä in 1595 and The Peace of Stolbov in 1617

The suspicions of the Lutheran and the Orthodox burst out in open hatred in the rupture war in 1656-1658. The Orthodox sided with the Russians who had crossed the border. After the war which proved unsuccessful for the Russians the emigration among the Orthodox was liveliest, for they feared for revenge by the Lutheran. During the rupture over 4000 families fled to Russia. They were replaced now as well as at the beginning of the 17th century by Lutheran population.
